GPT-6 Astra just ended software.

OpenAI has released their latest Astra model. With a retro-aesthetic, very human oriented ad. It showed the model operating apps, even the most complex ones like Blender. And context-switching on the go, to order food. This presentation was like the AI from the movies. And right about time!

The internet went wild with announcements that AGI is finally here. OpenAI desperately needed to address the full market, not just devs. But the dev parts of Astra are more interesting here so I’ll tell you how it killed software, and how it can try to revive it.

Sol, Astra

Sol was OUR star. Astra is “all the stars”. You can’t get much better than that. Per aspera, ad astra! To the stars! Even the naming suggests magnitudes!

But don’t worry, they can still progress to a galaxy and beyond. (GPT Universe, anyone?).
